What does a chauffeur cost in Frankfurt? Hourly rate, fixed price and day charter explained
The question “what does a chauffeur cost?” has no single answer in Frankfurt, but it has a clear logic. The price depends on how you book – as a transfer from A to B, by the hour or for the whole day – which vehicle class you choose, and when and where you are going. Once you know that logic, you compare quotes properly and never pay for surprises.
Three booking models, three price logics
The transfer is the simplest form: a door-to-door ride at a fixed price that is set before the journey and applies in both directions – whether to Frankfurt Airport, the trade fair or Wiesbaden. Traffic, waiting time within the agreed scope and VAT are included; no meter is running.
Hourly booking (the “disposal service”) charges by time: car and chauffeur stay exclusively with you, however many stops you make. The hourly rate depends on the vehicle class and is confirmed bindingly in advance. The day charter from eight hours is the variant for roadshows, trade-fair days and delegations – one day price instead of many individual rides.
The vehicle class makes the biggest difference
A Mercedes E-Class (business class) is the most affordable entry, the S-Class (first class) the most representative choice, the V-Class the van for up to seven people. The step between classes is transparently staggered – and importantly, it applies per vehicle, not per person. For a group, the van is often the cheapest class per head.
Route, time of day, waiting: what does (not) change the price
For a transfer the route determines the price – Frankfurt city centre to FRA costs less than Heidelberg to FRA. What does not change the price with a reputable chauffeur service: the time of day. We have no night, Sunday or public-holiday surcharges. Nor luggage or child-seat surcharges.
Waiting time is where providers differ. With us, 60 minutes after landing at Frankfurt Airport and 15 minutes for all other pickups are included in the fixed price; beyond that, time is charged pro rata at the hourly rate of the class – it says so in our terms, not in the small print.
Chauffeur vs. taxi: why the fixed price is often lower than expected
A taxi charges by the official tariff: base fare, per-kilometre rate and waiting time – in traffic the clock keeps running. A chauffeur fixed price is set in advance and includes waiting time, meet & greet and flight tracking. On airport routes at peak times the difference is therefore often far smaller than people expect – in a vehicle one class higher.
